Boab IT was founded by Nicholas Carr in 2012 after he continued to find small law firms were struggling to get the technology and support they needed to support their business.

With a background in managed services and data centre virtualisation, Nic had a vision to deliver products and services to law firms so that they could concentrate on servicing their clients rather than worrying about IT. By leveraging industry contacts, pulling together an experienced team and taking advantage of the best and most secure technology available, Boab IT was formed.

Nobody likes surprises, so to minimise the exposure to costly IT services, Boab IT would provide the technology services for a fixed monthly price, to deliver the best technology for security and performance, backed by dedicated support which can be trusted now and in the future.

Over a successful and diverse career spanning different industries, Sue has built up solid credentials as a pro-active, pragmatic and hands-on business leader with an emphasis on Revenue Development and Operational Improvement.

Sue started her career in a start-up software development company for a Practice Management suite for Chartered Accountants, raising through the ranks to General Manager – Client Services and was responsible for its operations in the UK, USA and Australia markets. This company was eventually acquired by MYOB.

Sue also was instrumental in transitioning a small general software development company into an industry-leading developer of software technology for compliance management for waste water after identifying an untapped niche.  This resulted in contracts with major Water Authorities and Transport companies.

In addition to various other achievements across a number of industries in Financial Services, Engineering, Retail, Sue is a keen business networker, scuba-diver and traveler.

With a keen interest in technology at an early age, Michael studied IT at Western Sydney University and then pursued a career over the next 8 years in IT in a wide range of industries, from foreign currency exchange and telecommunications.

His people skills and vast technical knowledge made him a valuable member of the Boab IT team and now heads up the technical team as IT Operations Manager.

Michael has been instrumental in creating processes and scripts, that pro-actively remediate technical issues before they are discovered, so that the team can respond quickly to any client-facing issues.
He deals with clients first hand, and his friendly, personable attitude, combined with a deep understanding of complex technical concepts, such as scripting and server architecture, means he can quickly troubleshoot even the toughest technical issues while giving clients total peace of mind.

With over 15 years of experience in office administration, branch management, and call centre work, Sharon has developed strong leadership, team communication, and administration skills. This enables her to handle multiple projects at once, while delivering outstanding customer and client service and ensuring the daily business operations run smoothly. 

Prior to joining Boab IT, Sharon was the Office Administrator for a Not-for-Profit organisation, and various financial institutions ranging from Microfinance, investments, and store finance. 

With 20+ years of managed services experience, Nic is passionate about educating the profession on all things LegalTech through tech and CPD talks with the various Law Societies, writing articles in multiple Law Journals and speaking at LegalTech events.

These engagements provide Nic with valuable insight into the challenges firms experience which helps Nic and his team of software developers to conceptualize and develop tools to improve Law Firms day-to-day operations to make them more productive, to reduce the mundane tasks and ultimately make more money.
